Past Creations, Past Characters, Past Shows,
and Past Side Projects of Character Juggler Chris Ivey

Reflections and Evolutions was written by Chris Ivey and performed during the
summer of 2006. The premise of the show was to explore (reflect on) the juggling
styles and techniques created in the past and then update these methods for
our current times (evolve them). The show was also Chris’s first attempt
at creating an accompanying mood or emotion to add depth to each routine. This
show was the first step in a pursuit to provide the audience with show substance
beyond the realm of simple tricks. Filled with elaborate theatrics, heart pounding
intensity, and connections to everyday life, Reflections and Evolutions created
a new standard for juggling show performances.

Shadows was designed and written as a one-time performance for a special elementary
school in May of 2005. Although the show’s ambition seemed to transcend
its ultimate message and impact, it was still an afternoon of blessings for
both the performer and the audience. The show included large projection screens
with routine titles, a juggling tribute to the Flying Karamazov Brothers, a
mathematical look at juggling with a routine about site swaps, and a highlight
video of Chris’s past work.

In honor of a combined love of the humor of Monty Python, Chris united with
long time friend Mark Oellig to create a juggling team the likes of which have
never and will never be seen again. Combining absurdly stupid comedy and a
little bit of juggling, the trio would fearlessly perform anywhere whether
or not they were actually booked there

Carrying on the legacy handed to him by “The Mighty” Curtis Earth,
Chris spawned his own style of live trivia shows originally created by Curtis
himself. Fire Realm Trivia is four rounds of dark, ruckus, mind bending fun.
Chris is currently on an indefinite leave of absence from his trivia hosting
duties. However, he still makes occasional appearances to rekindle the flames
of the realm of trivia. Fire Realm Trivia was played at various establishments
including Bube’s Brewery in Mount Joy, Sasha’s Hideaway in Harrisburg,
Café Chuckles, The Cat’s Meow, and The Lititz VFW. Despite Chris’s
absence, the shows are still continuing and thriving. Please visit the official
trivia website to learn where and how you can be apart of these weekly doses
of trivia excitement:

Buxton was a loveable and yet slightly mischievous original, silent character
creation of Chris Ivey. Buxton was a mixture of classic, silent, vaudevillian
comedy dressed in a modern, gothic, black and pale costume. He was perhaps
best described as the mixture of Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, The Crow,
and Edward Scissor Hands. Chris, appearing as Buxton, brought his unique blend
of juggling and comedy to events by strolling around causing havoc and leaving
smiles with everyone he met

White Rose and Red Rose are two card shuffling, wheeling, and dealing relatives
created and performed by Chris Ivey. White Rose is the picture of a riverboat,
gambling gentleman with a distinct southern draw. He would never turn down
a wager or a chance to showcase his undying charm. However, his distant cousin
(Red Rose) is a shady, 1920’s gangster with fast fingers and a New York
accent and attitude. He never misses an opportunity to win or swipe a fast
dollar. Both gentlemen have been seen at different charity events demonstrating
impossible outcomes with a single deck of cards.

A juggling project created by Greg Kennedy and Chris Ivey. Saccade performed
original and unique creations of movement and juggling at a variety of resorts,
theaters, and juggling festivals. Saccade also claimed the International Juggling
Association’s highest honor when they won the 2002 World Juggling Team
Championship. Saccade is currently on indefinite hiatus. You can learn about
their past exploits and creations at their website: www.innovativejuggler.com/saccade

Both of these medieval characters were created and performed by Chris Ivey
to spread juggling and comedy while roaming the streets of merry old England
(or at least the small England section of Busch Gardens, Williamsburg). Shorty
came to life during Chris’s first season at the Gardens while William
had to wait for Chris’s second season at the park to see the light of
day. Both characters performed solo, street theater juggling and comedy shows
to rave reviews and enormous success.
